THE CHARACTERS:
Both movies have a sum of money stashed away in a secret place that a boy finds out and the boy's stepfather / the boy's mom's new boyfriend as the different case may be, wants the money and uses threatening to try to coerce the boy into telling him where the money is. The boy tries running to his uncle(s) for help but it doesn't quite work out.
