Synopsis

A mayor wants to empty out a town in order to demolish it to make room for the railroad to go through, so he hires a black man to be the sheriff hoping that the people will be so offended that they pack up and move, leaving the town vacant as hoped. However, not everything goes exactly according to plan.

Review

A comedy classic gem. A total leave your brain at the door and just enjoy. The beginning of the interracial buddy movie (there may have been others before it but I don't know them). Great comedic cast that makes it a timeless classic. Like Robin Hood: Men in Tights, it gets a lot of its humor from I forget the word but it's where something is out of place in time, like the song "I Get a Kick Out of You" which is sung in the beginning of the movie was written in the 1920s or the 1930s, way after the western time.
